New dates for NZFC review meetings

Originally scheduled for late October, these meetings will be an opportunity to meet with NZFC Chair Patsy Reddy and CEO Graeme Mason to discuss the Jackson/Court Review and its influence on the direction of the NZFC. NZFC Review reforms due in November

A Government response to the NZFC review undertaken by Peter Jackson and Australian academic David Court is expected by the end of November, according to Arts, Culture and Heritage Minister Chris Finlayson in a letter in response to a joint submission on the NZFC review from five industry guilds.

Mason promises quick change

The NZFC could be implementing changes based on the agency’s first major review since it was set up over three decades ago as early as next month.

Round-up of responses to NZFC review – generally positive but devil will be in detail

In an industry that can be sharply divided on policy and funding questions, it’s noteworthy the reaction of key groups and players – not to mention the NZFC itself – to the NZ Commission Review has been generally positive so far.

Review won’t win NZFC more funding

It will be months before the Government acts on any of the recommendations in the NZFC review – and it won’t be providing more funding for their implementation.

Arts, Culture and Heritage Minister Chris Finlayson has already met briefly with the NZFC over the report and will discuss it next with MCH officials.
