Onfilm November 2000

Peter Jackson's first feature, Bad Taste, has topped $1 million in gross earnings to become the NZFC's most profitable investment. So far it's recouped 350% of its $295,000 budget, after a $1,080,000 sale to The Sci-Fi Channel in the US (where it will soon be re-released as a state-of-the-art DVD). Once Were Warriors was previously the commission's most profitable film, having grossed $6.7m on a $2m budget.
